Mike Melito: News

February 2017 News - February 8, 2017

Hey Everyone,
It's been a nice mild winter so far here in upstate NY. I'm not a fan of the snow and cold weather. Here's hoping the rest of winter stays mild.
As far as the gigs for this month the only public performance I am doing is on the 17th with Bob Sneider at The Lodge At Woodcliff. It will be a great band that night with Doug Stone playing tenor and Dan Vitale on bass. I really hope you can make it. The jazz scene here in Rochester with the closing of The Pythodd is not in good shape at all. We really need to get a few rooms going in town and people need to support these clubs. Rochester and upstate NY has some great jazz musicians living here. We need all the support we can get.
In saying this I will be playing with a new band bassist Peter Mack from Auburn started with Steve Brown guitar, Dino Losito piano, Joe Carello saxophones and myself on drums. Rehearsals have gone well and look for this band to make it's debut at The Lovin Cup in March with special guest from the Vanguard Orchestra tenor saxophonist Ralph Lalama.
Hope to see you all out on the scene.
Keep Swingin!
